How Did the 1877 Room Get Its Name?
An emblem similar to Vue’s 1877 stone feature adorns the historic Ohio State Penitentiary
The 1877 Room gets its name from the historic 1877 Stone Emblem above the stone feature on the south wall. This grand piece of stonework was salvaged from the historic Ohio State Penitentiary’s New Hall, which was built in 1877 in what is now known as the Arena District. Vue’s phone number also ends in 1877!
The 1877 Stone Emblem can be a striking focal point or conversion piece at your event, or an embellished stone cover can be placed overtop.
What Makes The 1877 Room Special?
This room brings together a number of elements that create a modern industrial vibe, including white-wash bricks, high ceilings, huge windows, numerous skylights, cement flooring and wood panels. Together, they create a rich backdrop for any event theme!
The private loft that overlooks the main floor in The 1877 Room is an excellent spot for a bridal suite, breakout meetings or a VIP event lounge.
This space is super adaptable, and can be adjusted for an intimate group meeting of 15, a seated meal for 280 or a cocktail party of 350 guests!

- Adaptable to suit any wedding vibe, The 1877 Room allows couples to party on a dance floor as big as they’d like, share photos and videos on the large projection screen, and accommodates 280 in a seated, formal dinner.
